Kelleghan Hits 4 As Swans Victorious.

Real FA Swans 8-2 Killeigh Utd

Real FA Swans got 2018 of to a winning start with a decent display against Killeigh Utd on a bitterly cold morning at Wilson's Hospital School.

It took both sides a while to settle into the game and the opening ten minutes seemed to be played at a walking pace. However Swans soon clicked into gear and when they did they were excellent at times. Kacey Clyne was slid in by an excellent through ball at the end of a mazey run from Ciara McManus. Kacey made no mistake and found the bottom corner. Soon after McManus was at it again with Jess Maloney on the end of this one and she calmly finished. A rare goal my our energetic midfield dynamo that stunned everyone. Well done Jess.

Swans finished off the half in control of the game. Lauryn Sheridan and Zoe Mooney were bossing the midfield and making things happen for the home side

Having gone into the break two up the Swans kicked on early in the second half. Free flowing football combined with some super deliveries into the box the Swans soon extended their lead through Ciara McManus and Lauryn Sheridan's shots from distance. Swans sprung all five subs from the bench and all subs done extremely well. However one sub Eva Kelleghan grabbed all the headlines today. Five shots, four goals and one off the crossbar. What a half hour she played today. Yes Eva didn't score them on her own as some fantastic build up play for three of the strikes seen Kelleghan on the end of them to make no mistake. The pick of her goals was a left footed volley in the box from a super Ciara McManus corner.

Killeigh utd to their credit never gave up and punished the swans defence for switching off with five mins to go.

Overall it was a decent display. Grace O Sullivan in goal done really well and is fast becoming a sweeper keeper. The back four and subs that went in there during the game were excellent at times. Ciara Heffernan making her debut at centre half had a fantastic game. Midfield area was exceptional at times with Lauryn Sheridan and Zoe Mooney grabbing this week's plaudits in this area. Our forward players all worked tirelessly and with just one goal from the eight coming from this area we will be looking for more of a return from here in the coming weeks.

Well done to the full squad today great start to the new year. Player of the match today Eva Kelleghan who just shades it for her four goals.
