Swans team v Killeigh Utd with u10 Star Ava as Support

Real FA Swans sealed third spot in the league last night with an impressive win v Killeigh Utd. Both teams who were struggling with numbers in their squads put on fine displays for this end of season encounter.

Swans struck early with a fine goal from Aoife Glennon who had another brilliant display on the wing. Further goals from Kacey Geoghegan and Alison Bane had the swans leading 3-0 at the break. Killleigh who were always a danger going forward had the swans under early pressure at the start of the second half. Grace o Sullivan in goals made a couple of fine saves to keep the scoreline at 3-0. As the half wore on swans continued to play some attractive football with Jess Maloney and Zoe Mooney moving the ball well in midfield and Chloe Smullen and Shauna Cunningham a constant threat in the wide areas. In fact it was Smullen who added the swans fourth and Kacey Geoghegan grabbed her second of the game shortly after. The impressive Claire Stuart, Louise Hopkins & Nicole Geoghegan all combined to set up Alison for her second and the pick of the swans goals with about ten to play. Oonagh Cassidy made a welcome returned from a hand injury and when she combined with Chloe down the left, who in turn slid the ball across the box for Alison to grab her hat-trick.

Overall it was a fine display. We would like to thank and praise Killeigh for travelling and for playing a great game. Swans have their final game of the season on Friday night v Clara
