Brave Swans Make A Point
Brave Swans Make A Point

On Saturday last Real FA Swans travelled to Bealnamulla Utd with the mindset of "it's not happening again". As expected Bealnamulla started the game well and Swans to their credit soaked up constant pressure throughout the opening exchanges. Playing into a strong wind Real FA Swans made few chances in the first half. Bealnamulla pressure did tell just before the half time whistle. A mix up from centre half Nicole and keeper Grace saw the ball ending up at the feet of a Bealnamulla player as she slotted into an open goal. Half time score 1-1.

Real FA Swans started the second half very well and was clear that there was a slight change of tactics second half. Swans again soaked up some pressure but now with the wind in their sails and the pace Chloe and Alison up front they posed a different task for the defenders second half. Surprisingly against the run of play Bealnamulla had a rare second half attack and after a slight coming together in the box they were awarded what you could call a bizarre penalty. Katelyn Keogh confidently made it 2-0 to the home side.

Feeling hard done by the Swans girls continued to work hard and when a goal bound shot from Chloe Smullen found the inside of the post and past the keeper the swans tails were up. Constant pressure shot after shot rained in on the Bealnamulla keeper and eventually a long ball over the top caused trouble for the defence and after a mix up in the area the ball fell to Alison who found the back of the net. A well deserved equaliser for the swans and a fantastic point considering last weeks performance.

You could not pick out a single player today as they were all fantastic. Well done girls
