Bealnamulla Utd blow Real FA Swans Away.

Real FA Swans 3-8 Bealnamulla Utd.

Bealnmulla Utd overcame Real FA Swans today which was a renewal of old rivals again this morning. Having had some great ding dong battles over the past couple of seasons it was sure to be another good game.

However it was the Athlone based outfit that were just to good, too strong and too committed this morning to ever have the tie in question. Bealnmulla started the best and were in front early on. Swans rarely threatened and look a long way off there usual self. Bealnmulla doubled the lead before swans pulled one back from Chloe Smullen. However Utd grabbed their third before the break to lead 3-1 at half time. The second half continued in the same patterns and before long Utd found themselves 5-1 up. Nicola who came off the bench for a cameo performance found the net for the swans before going off with a hamstring injury. For twenty minutes the swans showed some heart and a glimpse of what they can do but sadly the lead was too much to claw back. In fact two unfortunate incidents one after the other as swans conceded two more goals and another one from a collection of individual mistakes. Real FA Swans did score their third with a Katie Kelly free kick. All the phrases come to mind that it's not your day etc. However with all the talent in the swans squad counts for nothing without some hard graft. Bealnamulla on the other side were as mentioned previously determined and with plenty of excellent talent in their squad the two qualities put together were too much for the swans on the day. Kayleigh Shine, and Katelyn Keogh were stand out performances for Utd, while Nicole Geoghgegn, Evelyn and Grace were the best of the group for swans.

Special mention to the ref today who we thought was excellent. He spoke to and helped the players through different parts of the game and his decision making was excellent. He also managed the sideline very well and made it clear on more than one occasion that their was only one ref and he wouldn't be dictated too by parents who thought they had the whistle.

Well done Beanamulla Utd and it's a case of re-grouping now for the swans
